Park City, Utah is a unique resort town, boasting a modern, thriving and exciting community, all built on a rich, intriguing history.
It all started in the late 1860's with one event, the discovery of silver in the mountains of Utah! In 1872 an incredible silver vein was discovered and Park City was transformed from a tiny mining camp into a boomtown, as the world flocked to claim its natural riches.
Park City enjoyed great prosperity for half a century until the 1930's when falling mineral prices ended the mining boom. But this little town would not be stopped. It simply turned its eyes from the shimmering silver underground to the shimmering silver snow that covered its majestic hills.
A boomtown once again, ski jumpers from around the globe raced to Park City for competitions that began in 1930.
Today, Park City boasts three world class ski resorts, all within four miles of town — Park City Mountain Resort, The Canyons and Deer Valley Ski Resort. All three are known for their "Greatest Snow on Earth" which attracts skiers from around the world.
However, Park City isn't just a winter playground. Summer brings with it an incredible display of natural beauty and some of the best hiking and biking trails available.
Fine dining, shopping, museums and art galleries can be found along Park City's historic Main Street. And once the sun goes down, the party has just begun as locals and visitors alike enjoy a lively nightlife.
